Guilhem de Roquefeuil
Sophie is from Ontario. She holds a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School (2017), a MSc (Distinction) from the London School of Economics (2012) and a BA (Hons) from the University of King’s College (2010). After law school, Sophie served as a law clerk to two Justices of the Federal Court of Canada. She was called to the bar in Nova Scotia on October 22, 2018. Sophie has lived and worked in New Zealand, England, Egypt and Uganda.
Krista K Smith
Krista is from California. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University (2006), a Master of Arts (Journalism) from the University of Indiana (2000) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Riverside (1998). Before entering private practice in 2008, Krista clerked for the judges of the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal and articled at a prominent labour and employment firm in Toronto. Krista also dedicated many years as volunteer refugee counsel and caseworker before, during and after law school. Before joining North Star in January 2019, Krista practised labour and employment law. She has appeared before courts, administrative tribunals and mediators. Krista’s practice at North Star is focused on supporting corporate and institutional clients with Labour Market Impact Assessments, IMP work permits, and permanent residence applications under the federal and provincial economic streams.
